1) We all have thoughts. This is obvious. However, what isn’t so obvious is understanding how our moment-to-moment thinking creates and shapes our experiences and perceptions, throughout the day and every day. Remember, our experience of the same event changes depending on our current thinking.
2) We cannot control our thoughts. Trying to control the uncontrollable only revs up our thinking and lowers our state of mind. Our thoughts are random, neutral, and always fluctuating. When my clients understand this truth, they feel as if a weight has been lifted from their shoulders. Thought manipulation and replacement is a needless waste of time.
3) Everyone has “bad,” “crazy,” and not so good thoughts. I hesitate to label or differentiate between “good” and “bad” thinking because such analysis just invites more thinking. The content of thought isn’t important; the important thing to understand is that we always have thought flowing through us. Having a “bad” thought doesn’t make you a bad person; it makes you a normal person with a wayward thought. No need to worry. Waging war on any thought is a losing proposition.
4) Thought comes first, then feelings—always. Seeing this will change your life. What you feel neis the result of your circumstances, never. Your feelings (emotions, internal world) are the result of your moment-to-moment thinking. Believing circumstances dictate state of mind and your thinking invites a victim mentality and sets the course for a maddening life.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks for reading.

Hey Bruce, the four keys are right on, but breaking 61 years of wrong thinking isn’t easy. Although, I am 1000% for it. Everybody needs to understand these four keys and they need to understand them at a very young age. Its got to be frustrating to know that, and not be able to get the word to everybody instantly.it would be great to have a one on one with you so that you can help me break some bad mental habits! Jimbo,
I hear you…Let’s do it. I will be in touch.

“Mind is the slayer of the real, slay the slayer.” HB Blavasky. Yoga calls it the monkey mind. Lovely article. The mind is just one of our tools and it must be used correctly and an understanding of its limits. It is all learning and beautiful to share with others the reality of this mind tool rather than them “thinking” it is always correct. There is the lower mind if pattern and higher mind connected to divinity and their gifts quite different yet all part of the same wonder we get to play with her! Thanks!! Lovely to see you informing and inspiring others brilliantly!!
